Joseph Coyle (also known as Joseph Scrobb) is a Shropshire-based artist, writer and storyteller whose multidisciplinary practice is rooted in a deep connection to place, imagination and community. Working across painting, illustration, printmaking, pyrography, sculpture, textiles and doll making, Joseph often brings together visual art with poetry and narrative, crafting rich, layered works that explore folklore, mythology and the unseen threads between past and present.

Drawing on his own lived experience, Joseph’s work reflects a personal and spiritual engagement with landscape, memory and the healing power of story. He is a champion of forgotten myths, buried giants, and overlooked spirits of place—finding beauty and meaning in the obscure and magical.

Alongside his own self-published books and exhibitions, Joseph leads workshops in doll making and creative storytelling, and runs The Story Circle—a welcoming monthly gathering for sharing tales of all kinds, hosted at English Bridge Studios on the third Wednesday of each month.
