About the event
Join artist Lucy Caddel for a full day of colourful making at English Bridge Studios, creating your own Mexican-inspired nicho shrine.
Taking inspiration from traditional retablos and nichos, you’ll create a small personal altar or decorative niche that can be wall-mounted at home. Your piece can be purely ornamental, used to display meaningful or treasured objects, or even developed to incorporate lighting, hinged doors or other personal details.
Throughout the day, Lucy will guide you through traditional processes including papier-mâché, folk art painting and hojalateria, giving you plenty of freedom to make something that feels completely your own.
The finished piece is designed to celebrate colour, memory, home and the people or things that hold meaning for you.
All materials and light refreshments are included. Please bring your own lunch.
