This June, English Bridge Studios marks a major milestone: 40 years of nurturing artists, makers and creative practitioners in the heart of Shrewsbury. We’re celebrating with a week of public events, artist-led workshops, exhibitions and performances — and you're warmly invited to be part of it.
For four decades, this historic red-brick building has been a home for experimentation, learning and connection. From painters and printmakers to storytellers, ceramicists, illustrators and musicians, English Bridge Studios has quietly supported generations of local talent. Now, we’re throwing open the doors and shining a light on everything this space has stood for — and where we’re going next.

Mosaic, collage, storytelling, portrait and landscape drawing, printmaking and more. Throughout the week, you can take part in hands-on creative sessions led by the artists who call this building home. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, you’ll find something to spark your creativity.

Our closing exhibition will showcase archival works, new pieces created during the week, and stories drawn from our 40-year history. It's a reflection on the past — and a conversation about the future.
